Dimbelby and Capper

Spotlight

I only just saw this artist at the Macbeth supporting the fantastic Out Of The Afternoon. I had to be very rude to the people I was talking to upstairs and came down and stared intensively for 20 minutes. I was absolutely struck in awe of such refreshing music. She performed on her own that day but she also has a band, as seen in this great video from BBC introducing.

Dimbleby & Capper also known by her friends as Laura Bettinson is just a one-woman project.  Created after messing around with electronics and sticking piano parts over beats.

The name came from the same way that the music is created through a cut a nd paste technique.

In an interview with Amelia’s magazine earlier this year Laura said, “essentially, it boils down to pop music. Dreamy electronic pop, and then there’s that rhythm aspect to it, with some quite heavy beats in there, and there’s also a kind of ‘world-y’ vibe to it with the tribal drumming.”

Enjoy the great treat, and expect to hear more soon, she told us last week “They’ll hopefully be a full length album out next year and some more shows to come in the autumn so look out for those.”
