Adelaide Clemens, one of the stars of Baz Luhrman’s forthcoming film adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’, has accidentally (on purpose?) let slip some intriguing details concerning the film’s soundtrack. “Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film”, reveals Clemens, “and I don’t think Warner Bros are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door”, before adding “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that”. Kibosh Put On Zeppelin, Smiths Reunions
Robert Plant and Morrisey are obviously getting fed up with being quizzed as to whether a reunion of their bands is in the offing. Plant called a journalist who asked if Led Zeppelin might reform a "schmuck" (and, more confusingly, a "masseuse") in a recent press conference to launch a DVD of the band's 2007 gig at the O2. Said Plant, "we're pretty good at what we do but the tail should never wag the dog, really. If we're capable of doing something, in our own time, that will be what will happen. So any inane questions from people who are from syndicated outlets, you should just really think about what it takes to answer a question like that in one second. We know what we've got, you know". Told. Morrisey isn't one to mince his words either, and gave the idea of a Smiths revival similarly short shrift during an appearance on comedian Stephen Colbert's "The Colbert Report". Asked why he wouldn't reform his band, he replied "not everybody is a fat old slag". Indeed.
