Dave Grohl, who will also feature on the album and was interviewing Elton at the time, announced the unlikely collaboration on the late night American talk show ‘Chelsea Lately’. Before recording the track Elton was singing a duet with old pal Englebert Humperdink. He said that he “drove three blocks and went from Engelbert to Queens Of The Stone Age, which was a bit of a mindfuck.” The track is rumoured to include this classic lyric – ‘It seems to me that you’ve lived your life like a sandal in the bin’. We may have made that last bit up.
