The band members are called Dirty Coq, Boogie Snake and Devil D’Inferno. That alone should make you want to go and see Belgian rockers The Experimental Tropic Blues Band play Brixton’s Windmill on Sunday 28th, right?

If, for some reason, amusing names are not enough, then consider that they’re one of Jon Spencer’s favourite live acts, and have played with bands like The Cramps, Bob Log III and Jim Jones Revue which is some mighty fine company. And if you’re still not convinced, then rest assured they also put on a blooming brilliant set themselves. Now get your arse down there…

FEMME @ Gold Dust, Hoxton Sq. Bar & Kitchen
Art-pop chanteuse Laura Bettinson, most recently seen fronting Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker's Ultraísta project, hits Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on Wednesday as her sparkling solo project FEMME kicks into gear. By the looks of the promo vid (below) she's been hitting several other kitchens recently too, getting frisky with a variety of baked products against a bright pink backdrop. So bring your rolling pins, cookie cutters and dancing shoes to Hoxton Square for the long-running Gold Dust club, where there'll be music from Carly Connor, MMX, DEWL and Ben Pistor too (don't actually bring rolling pins or cookie cutters, they WILL be confiscated on the door).
