On August 16th Teeth released their debut 7″ See Spaces through the fantastic Moshi Moshi. The band consist of laptop driven sounds and loops creating a lot of noise, whilst high speed broken rhythms are literally smashed out on the drums and tied together through the singing/shouting style of Veronica.
I have had to copy this next paragraph from dotsanddashes.co.uk about the song that you can stream here. The reason is it is soooo well written, so please take a look at their blog!
“See Spaces is a glitchy post-apocalyptic slab of dank, drab electro that remedies the conflictual, primal instinct that resides in the wake of Crystal Castles and does to ambient-orientated, warped electronica what Mount Kimbie did to dubstep. Hallelujah. The gargantuan columns of synth sound that interject almost instantaneously sound bigger than Jay-Z’s Empire State Of Mind and ego combined, whilst the trashy, frenetic drums recall Comanechi in a swirling drawing pin blizzard.”
The video was recorded live at the pub formally known as the best pub in the World, The Stags Head. It was part of a series they recorded called the knocking shop. Hopefully the series will carry on as it features some of the best bands around at the moment, with some surreal interviews and game shows thrown in for good measure!
