Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out, but if it had it would have been one of the most unlikely collaborations to date. Dave Grohl, who’s making something of a habit of this sort of thing, tried to get the two to work together on a track for the soundtrack to his documentary Sound City. He said ‘I was so f**king close to getting them on record. I thought it was going to happen, it would’ve been f**king huge.’ The rocker said that Barry Manilow was one of the hardest artists to find for the soundtrack; ‘He was the first person who said he’d do it but was the last we tracked down. And we had to fly to f**king Hawaii.’ Someone should teach Dave some new adjectives.

Forget Bonnie Tyler, the masters of reality themselves Black Sabbath are entering this year's Eurovision Song Contest! Well, sort of. It turns out guitarist Tony Iommi has co-written Armenia's entry, an English-language song called 'Lonely Planet' by the band Dorians.
