Dave Grohl, who's making something of a habit of this sort of thing, tried to get the two to work together on a track for the soundtrack to his documentary Sound City. He said ‘I was so f**king close to getting them on record. I thought it was going to happen, it would’ve been f**king huge.’ The rocker said that Barry Manilow was one of the hardest artists to find for the soundtrack; ‘He was the first person who said he’d do it but was the last we tracked down. And we had to fly to f**king Hawaii.’ Someone should teach Dave some new adjectives.
